Super Specialty Hospital to be ready soon: Taj

JAMMU, Jan 24: The Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu would be made operational soon.
This was stated by Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din while reviewing the pace of completion of works on the hospital and state of preparedness in a meeting of faculty members of Government Medical College, Jammu and Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu.
The Minister took a detailed review of the preparations made for the operationalisation of the Super Specialty Hospital. He reviewed the status of the faculty, maintenance of the buildings, readiness of machinery equipment and other issues. He asked the hospital administration to recruit retired faculty members for the hospital on contract basis. He also asked for hiring registrars and residents on walk in interview basis so that the hospital does not face any shortage of staff.
Mr. Taj said the proposed hospital would be the premier health institution of Jammu province for which he sought co-operation from the faculty members for its early opening. He said Rs 1.50 crore have been released as special dispensation for buying equipment etc for the hospital.
The Minister assured the faculty members that Government will provide them all facilities needed and they won’t be left asking for the same. He directed digitization of medical records and posting of a Law Officer to the GMC, Jammu.
Commissioner-Secretary, Health & Medical Education, M. K. Divewdi, Chief Engineer, R&B, Jammu, Tehseen Mustafa, Principal, GMC, Jammu, Dr. Aniece Choudhary, Medical Superintendent, SMGS, Dr. Manoj Chalotra, Medical Superintendent, Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu, Dr. Reyaz, Heads of Departments and other senior doctors were present in the meeting.
