JAMMU, Sept 9: On the directions of District Election Officer Jammu, Electoral Reg. Officers of 72-Jammu East (Joint Commissioner JMC, R S Jamwal) and 73-Jammu West (Secretary Ranjit Singh), along with AEROs and Election Naib Tehsildar, JMC, conducted a meeting of all the Supervisors regarding the schedule issued by Chief Electoral Officer, J&K on Special Summary Revision from September 9 to October 14, 2016.
Draft publication of Electoral Rolls is commencing from September 15, 2016 (Thursday), period of filling of claims and objections on September 15, 2016 to October 14 2016, reading of relevant part/section of photo Electoral Rolls in Gram Sabha/Local Bodies and RWA meeting etc and verification of names on September 16, 2016 to October 30, 2016, Special campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of Political parties for receiving claims and objections on September 18, 2016 and October 9, 2016, Disposal of claims and objections on November 16, updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list on December 15, 2016 and final publication of Electoral Rolls on January 5, 2017”
During the meeting EROs stressed upon Special Summary Revision Camps, scheduled to be held on September 18, (Sunday), October 9, (Sunday) at every polling station within both the constituencies i.e 72-Jammu East & 73-Jammu West. All the Supervisors were instructed to inform their respective BLOs to remain present at the polling stations alongwith sufficient number of forms No. 6, 7, 8 & 8A so that new voters can be enrolled and suitable modifications i.e addition, deletion, correction and transposition can be made.
The Electoral Registration Officers gave directions to the AEROs and Supervisors to give wide publicity to the Special Revision programme at gross root level so that no eligible voter is left out.
