JAMMU, July 29: With an objective to empower the student with practical training skills, a survey camp organised by the School of Civil Engineering at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) concluded here today.
This camp offered third and fourth-year Civil Engineering students the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing their practical skills and knowledge.
The survey camp was meticulously planned with Dr. Bharat Bhushan Jindal leading as the Coordinator, Dr. Vaibhav Sapkal as the Faculty-In-Charge, and Gautam Narula as the Co-coordinator.
The camp provided practical training in fly levelling, traversing the Administrative Block, measuring the area of the SMVDU stadium, and contouring the enchanting green ground with cutting-edge equipment like Auto Level and Total Station.
This hands-on experience enabled students to comprehend the complexities of surveying and its real-world applications.
The camp culminated in an engaging session between the students and the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Balbir Singh, and the Head of SoCE, Dr. V.K. Dogra.
Prof. Balbir Singh commended the students’ enthusiasm and the camp’s role in enhancing their skill set and Dr. V.K. Dogra lauded the organizing team and students for the camp’s success.
Dr. Jindal highly praised the unwavering dedication of Lab Assistants Luv Sharma and Shivang Gupta, who provided invaluable support to the students in all their activities.
By orchestrating survey camps, the university equips students to emerge as proficient professionals, adept at addressing real-world challenges with assurance.
