Surya Vihar lanes flooded

The irrigation canal running through Surya Vihar Borhi area has overflooded and flood water has entered the residential houses. We have brought this issue to the notice of Irrigation Deptt and JMC many times but of no help. Last week we met corporate representatives of the Ward No. 41 and 61 also and submitted representation to Xen Irrigation and were assured of doing the needful. We bring it into notice of the concerned agencies once again to help the people of this area.

Run buses from Kalaban of Mendhar
It is to inform the concerned authorities that the GDC Mendhar has only one college bus and it can’t cover all the villages and routes of the town. The female students of the area suffer due to the shortage of buses in the town. Thus the college and school going females faces lot of hardships on account of transport and they have to travel in jam packed buses and sumos.
Due to the lack of proper transport facilities, the female students often miss the classes. Though the authorities are fully aware of the problems of the female students in Mendhar, the administration has failed to take any action. Hence it is requested to the concerned authorities and Governor’s administration to intervene in the matter and pass orders for the running of buses from Kalaban to Mendhar and also from Bimbergali to Mendhar.

Grievences of Bishnah residents
We, the residents of villages like Bahadur Khan, Kotli Charkan, Kotli Mian Fateh, Deoli, Muralia, Labu-de-Kulla, Phinder etc face many problems on account of bad condition of our link road. Old and school going children are unable to move as drivers are reluctant to play their vehicles on the damaged road.
It may be mentioned here that we had approached the then Minister for PWD/R&B Nayeem Akhter who was kind enough to make the representation to the concerned Xen for immediate action but the required macademization could not take place. The road is still in that state right now. A sorry state of affairs indeed. We hope that action may be taken in this matter.

Repair Laddan Fort Udhampur
It is requested to J&K State Govt. to undertake renovation of Laddan Fort in Village Kotli (Udhampur) out of Corporate Social Responsibility amount of Chenani-Nashri Tunnel/Gammon India Ltd. engaged for the widening of Udhampur to Chenani part of the National Highway. The Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme was initiated long ago towards social upliftment of the area in which major projects are being executed. In case of Chenani to Udhampur Section of National Highway two major projects of tunnel construction and National Highway widening were undertaken. The CSR amount of these projects comes to crores of rupees. It is sorry state of affairs that no visible project of social concern and heritage preservation has been started in the effected area. Pertinent to mention that these projects affect living environment to a great extent.
Various steps for economic development and social upliftment-cum-promotion of cultural and historical heritage of nearby population can be undertaken under CSR scheme. It has been seen that entire area surrounding these projects remained neglected for the utility of CSR amount. The historical heritage of Chenani is dying in the shape of very important Laddan Fort in village. Kotli near Udhampur. The ruins of this fort tell some brave episodes of long history of kings of Chenani. This fort constructed during early medievals was renovated and put to effective use by Raya Dayal Chand of Chenani in Eighteenth Century A.D for self defence against powerful Jammu State. Although it has been declared as Protected Monument by J&K State yet it is allowed to turn into ruins due to utter neglect on the part of concerned Departments. If renovated, this Fort alongwith nearby Jalandhra Mata Temple can be of great use to the tourists and research scholars of history. The Govt should consider the historical importance of this fort and complete its renovation.

Mohalla Ustad is stinking
This is in reference to our repeated complaints to Jammu Municipal Corporation regarding negligence in removing garbage properly and breakout of epidemic due to dumping of meat and chicken live wastages by certain nearby meat and chicken shops which is totally neglected by the Municipal Department. With every passing day, the situation worsens as foul spreads in the entire mohalla. With the onset of summer the situation may deteriorate further.
This has become a routine of safaikaramcharies to throw full load of their reharies with meat and chicken live wastages from shops of Ambphalla, CPO Chowk and Kachi Chawni market at dump site opposite Jamoblochan Community Hall, Mohalla Ustad.
The JMC authorities are once again requested to look into the problem and sort it out at the earliest.
