NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday called on Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and both the leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues.
“#Neighbourhoodfirst. EAM @SushmaSwaraj calls on visiting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in New Delhi. Bilateral & regional issues discussed,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
The visit of Mr Ghani is crucial as it also coincides with the three-day India visit of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who arrives later in the evening.
The Trump administration has shown keen interest to involve India with a much greater role for the peace process in Afghanistan. (AGENCIES)
