COLOMBO, Mar 20 : The Sri Lanka Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) seized narcotic substances, including hashish from a person valued more than Rs 153 million late on Wednesday night.
A Sri Lankan Naval spokesperson said here on Thursday that following information received by the Naval Intelligence, the personnel of Sri Lankan Navy Ship (SLNS) ‘Rangalla’ attached to the Western Naval Command and PNB in a coordinated operation, searched a house in Colombo and recovered the narcotic substances, including 19.348 kg of hashish, 348 grams of heroin and four grams of methamphetamine.
A 31-year-old suspect was also taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
The gross value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be over Rs 153 million.
The arrested person along with the seized narcotic substances was handed over to the PNB for onward legal action, he added.
