JAMMU, July 13: A suspended police constable was held along with 1400 intoxicants from Bishnah area of the winter capital.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Bishnah Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle without registration number.
During checking, police recovered 1400 intoxicant capsules and arrested a suspended police constable, who has been identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Des Raj of Ward Number 12, Bishnah.
The associate of the constable, who has been identified as Tirath Ram, son of Sewa Ram of Chack Avtara, managed to flee from the spot, he added.
A case under FIR number 93/13 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and investigation started.
