REASI : Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Labour & Employment, Ajay Nanda today affirmed that a sustained campaign is being carried out to make Reasi free from open defecation.
The Minister was addressing the participants after inaugurating a five day training workshop being organized by the district administration with the support of experts’ from Delhi to impart practical training on open defecation free (ODF) environment.
The Minister said the dream of Swach Bharat once envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi will certainly be turned into reality by the present dispensation and for which all out efforts are being made in each nook and corner of the country.
Calling the training programme one more step towards Swachta, the Minister said that ongoing campaign for cleanliness will certainly be benefited by this when the trainees will further impart their expertise to other local people in their surroundings regarding ODF.
Three Panchayats of district have become ODF while as massive work is being done for turning 9 more Panchayats ODF very soon, the Minister was informed and for which he lauded the efforts of district administration in moving towards targets of Swach Bharat Mission in the district.
District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchyat Officer, Block Development Officers and field functionaries of RDD were present on the occasion.
Pertinently, the training began with a brief sensitization programme by Ajay Sen lead trainer Feedback Foundation followed by lectures of resource persons.
The team of experts and resource persons included Dr Puran Singh Yadav, Jyoti Prakash, Jai Pal,Nand Kishen and Umesh Kumar.
Apart from class room lectures, the participants shall also be taken on field visits in rest of day for relating theoretical knowledge with practical one under follow up sessions. Besides, the trainees will also be sensitized on the issues and obstacles usually faced by the field functionaries while motivating general public for ODF.
In the training programme, other stake holders including district officers, police officers, CRPF, prominent people, religious leaders and local media persons will also be educated under sector triggering component of this training programme.
