Sustained development priority of Govt: Sagar

SRINAGAR, Sept 5: While maintaining that the Government has initiated sustained development of every part of the State, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today said several flagship programmes have been undertaken which have been instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the rural and far-flung areas.
The Minister was addressing a gathering after dedicating to the public, the newly constructed 4-km road stretch at Laisoo, Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam district.
The Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, legislators, Nasir Aslam Wani, Bimla Luthra, Dr. B. A. Veeri, Abdul Majid Bhat, besides other senior officers of district administration and different departments were present on the occasion.
Asking the people to come forward to avail the maximum benefits of the various flagship schemes introduced by the Government, the Minister said that by doing so they would be exhibiting a participatory involvement in their implementation, besides giving the much needed feedback about them. He said that several schemes have been launched which have contributed a lot in ensuring that the infrastructure creation is done in rural and far-flung areas, besides ensuring their socio-economic upliftment.
Mr. Sagar appealed the people not to pay heed to the propaganda being carried out by certain political parties as they are trying to create confusion in their minds for their own vested political interests. He said that it is a recorded fact that the present Government has initiated a developmental agenda which has no parallels in the annals of history.
“We have launched several programmes which have been instrumental in ensuring that the people get the much needed employment opportunities at their doorsteps, besides also taking care of the youth of the State by launching schemes like Himayat, Umeed etc”, the Minister said and added that the people are judge of the work done by the Government for their welfare.
The Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo while speaking on the occasion highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by the Government in ensuring the development of the rural and far-flung areas.
