JAMMU, Dec 18: The J&K Vigilance Commission has asked all the State Government Departments, PSUs, Government companies and societies to ensure that the tenders issued for procurement of stores or execution of works, are uploaded on their official website besides publication of the same in local dailies.
“Giving wide publicity to tendering process would induce a healthy competition and in turn ensure procurement of quality stores and execution of quality works at reasonable rates,” says a circular, issued by the Vigilance Commission while observing that the tenders are generally published in newspapers with meager circulation.
To ensure compliance of the instruction, the circular further says that it would be incumbent upon all the departments to create an official website, in case they do not have one as on date.
The Vigilance Commission has also said that if needed, the rules regarding procurement in the respective organization should also be amended so that publicity through the website becomes mandatory.
