SVC seeks personal appearance of former ACD Pulwama

JAMMU, Feb 16: The State Vigilance Commission has sought personal appearance of the then Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama, in connection with alleged irregularities committed in the selection of Data Entry Operators in the district.
The SVC, while proceeding on a complaint regarding bunglings, favouritism and other corrupt practices allegedly committed during the selection process of Data Entry Operators on contractual basis under the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan, in the year 2014-15, besides delegating the authority to a consolidated employee to conduct practical test of candidates in utter violation of prescribed norms, sought report from the Dy Commissioner, Pulwama.
The report prima-facie revealed a series of omissions and commissions in every aspect of the selection process committed by the Selection Committee under the Chairmanship of the then ACD, resulting in arbitrary, unfair and non-transparent selection, alibi, misuse of official powers by the concerned public servants.
While taking a serious view of the allegations, SVC directed the then ACD Pulwama to ensure his presence before the Commission on the next date of hearing alongwith his comments.
