UDHAMPUR, Feb 8: To aware the students about their registration as voters and thereafter ensuring their participation in the election process, an extension lecture was organized by Bhartiya College of Education in collaboration with SVEEP, here today.
Yasha Mudgal, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, was chief guest on the occasion.
She laid emphasis on the need of registration as voters and motivated students to participate whole heartily in the election process. She enlightened the students about the voting right of the citizens which can change destiny of the nation.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner along with all the faculty members and students took pledge to cast their vote irrespective of their caste and religion.
Prof Sukham Chand, Principal of the college also encouraged the students to come forward for their registration as voters. He informed that the nodal officer of the college Savita Sambyal has registered more than 140 students of the college as electors.
Student speakers Ajay, Chetan and Shiv Nanda shared their views about the value of vote.
