JAMMU, Nov 10: Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission (SVMM) Charitable Hospital Ambphalla here achieved another milestone by operating a patient for total knee replacement in the upgraded modern orthopaedic operation theatre.
An elderly female patient of 68 years of age, Sareshta Gupta from Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu was suffering from pains in both knee joints for the last 10 years and was diagnosed as a case of severe bilateral osteoarthritis.
Total knee replacement was conducted by senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Madan Gandotra in association with Dr. Rajesh Gandotra and Dr. Sham Jurangal, Orthopaedic surgeons free of cost under Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
The patient was anaesthetized by Dr. Arun Arora.
Dr Madan Gandotra was assisted by a dedicated team consisting of Dr Tapsy Sharma, RMO, Sahil Khatri, Mohinder Lal, OT Technicians, Parvez Chouhan, Male Nurse, Ashish Kumar, DEO and others.
Dr Madan Gandotra lauded the management committee of SVMM Hospital and administrator Dr. Romesh Gupta for encouraging him and providing all type of facilities for conducting the surgery and making it successful.
