JAMMU, June 21: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today booked Imtiyaz Ahmed, Head Clerk and Riyaz Ahmed, Class-IV employee, posted in Mechanical Division Khellani of district Doda.
A case against the two officials was registered on the basis of a verification conducted into a complainant forwarded by the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption (Additional District and Sessions Judge) Doda lodged by one Abdul Karim against officers/officials of Mechanical Engineering wing, Khellani to look inter-alia into the allegations that the public servants took bribe of Rs 40,000 from the complainant at the time of his appointment and also used to take Rs. 2150 every month from his salary.
Verification revealed that the complainant Abdul Karim was engaged as casual labourer on November 1, 2014 by then Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Khellani, Doda on the recommendation of then Minister Roads & Buildings.
It came to fore that Imtiyaz Ahmed and Riyaz Ahmed on account of getting Abdul Karim regularized, demanded and accepted amount of Rs 40,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively from him in presence of Narian Dass of Marmat, Doda.
Abdul Karim borrowed the amount from Wali Mohd of Bharth, Doda on two occasions viz Rs. 40,000 on March 3, 2016 and Rs 20,000 on March 21, 2016.
The SVO has started further investigations against Imtiyaz and Riyaz after registering a case against them.
