JAMMU, Apr 27: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO) has registered a case against Dr Rakesh Khajuria, former Project Director J&K AIDS Control Society for making illegal appointment.
An official handout issued by the SVO said the verification conducted into the allegations of illegal appointment in the Directorate of J&K State AIDS Control Society by the then Project Director Dr Rakesh Khajuria revealed that one Priyanka Thusoo was appointed as Quality Manager (Blood Safety) without any experience in the field.
Investigations pointed out that vide employment notification, the Society had invited applications for different posts. Among them, there was one post of Quality Manager as well for which the eligibility criteria had been fixed as B.Pharma with three years experience in Blood Bank/Pharma industry.
However, the handout said, Thusoo was having only B Pharma with certificate as a lecturer in Sain Charitable Institute of Para Medical Sciences. Therefore, she was not found eligible for the post.
Though not being eligible, Thusoo was short-listed for the interview by the then Project Director, JKSACS and members of the Selection Committee in connivance with each other.
Further, Thusoo was awarded 10 marks for possessing additional qualification which was never the part of eligibility criteria and was, thus, appointed Quality Manager, a post for which she was not entitled.
