JAMMU, Aug 10: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO), Jammu today trapped Patwari Halqa Surinsar Mohammad Sharief for demanding and accepting gratification of Rs 4000 for getting mutation attested in favour of Narayan Singh of Surinsar for one kanal and one marla of land, which the complainant had duly purchased through proper sale deed.
Acting on the complaint, a team of Vigilance Organization today caught the Patwari red handed while taking corruption of Rs 4000 from the complainant for attesting mutation in favour of him in the presence of two witnesses.
The corruption money was recovered from the possession of Patwari in presence of the independent witnesses.
A case against the accused Patwari has been registered under FIR No. 17/2016 under Section 5 (2) Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Organization’s police station.
