JAMMU, Oct 3: State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today presented challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption, Jammu against Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, the then Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B) Circle, Doda and Nazir Ahmed Tramboo (Supplier) for causing loss of Rs 4 lakh to the State exchequer.
According to the Vigilance case, the then Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B) Circle, Doda in connivance with the supplier purchased Floronite Concrete Hardner on highly exorbitant rates to confer undue benefit upon themselves.
The criminal conspiracy led to the loss of approximately Rs 4 lakh to the State exchequer in the purchase of the material on highly exorbitant rate. During enquiry, it came to fore that purchase of material was not at all required and the department had incurred wasteful expenditure.
Moreover, no tenders were invited to ensure fair competition and the rates were worked out on the basis of repeat orders in utter violation of the rules.
