JAMMU, Feb 27: Ahead of the ‘International Women’s Day 2025’, which falls on March 8, the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU) will celebrate ‘Women’s Week’ in its premises at Meerut.
There has been a tradition of holding events and gatherings to discuss different issues affecting society & culture at SVSU ever since it was established.
This year, SVSU under the leadership and guidance of its Chief Executive Officer, Dr Shalya Raj is going to celebrate ‘Women’s Week’ in the days preceding ‘International Women’s Day 2025’.
It won’t be a single event, but a week-long series of multiple events from March 2 to 8.
During the week long celebrations, female teachers and principals of schools/colleges working diligently in the field of women education, women doing an outstanding work in the area of women employment, and women entrepreneurs launching and successfully leading startups will be honored with awards for their significant contribution to women empowerment.
In this week, leading women from the worlds of business, sports, education, politics, media, etc. will share their inspiring stories with people and talk about their achievements and the challenges they dealt with.
An essay competition, a quiz and a debate competition on subjects like gender parity and women rights will also be held on campus, aiming to raise awareness among youth.
It is a well-known fact that woman has been worshipped and venerated as ‘power’ in our Indian culture since time immemorial.
The more a society honors its women, the more civilized it becomes.
