Sir,
This year the cases of Dengue fever multiplied sharply in Jammu, the city of temples, courtesy the spread of Dengue mosquito. It is amazing that despite of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachata Abhyan there seems no respite to the Jammuites. Garbage is piling up at many places. Its disposal is slow and at times after days together. I have not seen any department doing anything to kill the mosquitoes in the season when Dengue mosquito’s production is at peak. What we hear about Dengue is from the advertisements published in the newspapers how to avoid it. Is not the government responsible for good sanitation, removal of garbage and removing of waste material? Putting the whole responsibility on the shoulders of the people is not fair. Okay, it is the duty of people to keep their surroundings clean and most people do that, as everybody likes cleanliness. However, what about the departments like Municipality, and Sewerage and Drainage etc?
Everybody knows now that Dengue is spread through mosquitoes rather special mosquitoes and how they breed but what are the government agencies doing to curb their spread?
Yours etc…..
Sunil Sharma
