Swami Mahadev Giri releases Chalisa Sangrah

JAMMU, Jan 29: Highlighting the significance of Magh Mass- the holy month of Magh, Mahant Swami Shree Mahadev Giri Ji Maharaj said that the month is one of the sacred months of Hindu calendar.
Addressing a religious gathering which was held on the beginning of holy month at Mahakali Mandir, Talab Tiloo today, he said the month of Magh is regarded as very auspicious for many religious activities. Swami Ji said as per the religious scriptures the Gods come on earth in human form and take dip in Prayag known as Allahabad. This is why it is said that bathing during this month in Ganga results in fulfillment of wishes and salvation, he added.
Swami Ji said keeping fast during this month is also considered more auspicious for spiritual attainments.
On the occasion, a Maha Yagya was also solemnized in the temple and a large number of devotees attended the function. During the function a Chalisa Sangrah containing Hanuman Chalisa, Suriya Chalisa, Shiv Chalisa, Devi Chalisa and Shani Chalisa dedicated to Krishana Jyotshi was released by Swami Ji. The function as also attended by Pt Avtar Krishan Jyothshi.
Swami Ji also announced that Lallita Shasharnam will be released on Magh Purnima with conclusion of month long religious discourses with solemnizing of two days hawan.
