ANANTNAG, May 5: Swami Mirzakak Trust Hangulgund has expressed grave concern over the failure of the authorities in renovation of culvert leading to holy Smadhi of Swami Ji in Hangulgund village of Kokernag tehsil of Anantnag district despite the assurance given by the Municipal Committee Kokernag (MCK) on annual Jag of Swami Ji last year.
The Trust representatives said that the annual Jag of Swami Mirzakak Ji a spiritual saint of medieval Kashmir falls on May 7 and this year also large number of devotees from Jammu and other parts of Kashmir are visiting the holy Samadhi to pay obeisance and participate in annual religious function. But the culvert near Samadhi is in dilapidated condition and the KMC has failed to restore it despite the assurances given last year. Though one year has elapsed the Municipality failed to take the restoration work in hand despite repeated pleas, the Trust added.
The Trust has demanded that the culvert be restored at an earliest as it can cause any catastrophe at any time and the authorities will be responsible for the same.
