Swami Vivekanand remembered on National Youth Day

JAMMU, Jan 12: Different organisations here today organised various programmes to celebrate National Youth Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand Ji.
National Youth Day was celebrated by the students and faculty members of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu. An elocution competition was organised for the students under the banner of IIMC students’ cultural group ‘Jamghat’. The subject of elocution was ‘Swami Vivekanand and Youth’. The programme was coordinated by Umesh Singh Bisht, Paras Pathak, Komal Soni, Ambika Rashmi, Aditya Singh and Sakshi Jaiswal.
On the occasion of Swami Vivekanand Jayanti, IMS organised a charitable drive under the umbrella of Social Club to promote the responsibility of giving back to the society.
National Youth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu and local school children at the Vivekananda Auditorium in the Mission premises at Udheywala. The celebration was inaugurated by the chief guest, Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The programme started with Aarti-Pujan and recitation of Vedic hymns.
The Office of the Programme Coordinator, NSS commemorated ‘National Youth Day’ in the University of Jammu. The National Youth Day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, great Indian Thinker, Philosopher and social leader. More than 100 volunteers from various departments of the University and from different colleges participated in the programme.
Department of English, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Students Welfare organized string of literary and cultural activities to celebrate Rashtriya Yuva Divas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The day began with the slogan writing activity wherein the young minds of the department of English enthusiastically displayed slogans on the teachings and preaching of Swami Vivekananda.
Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu celebrated the National Youth Day by organizing singing competition to promote the young talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College Prof Aketa Gupta threw light on the importance of the day and appreciated the NSS Unit of the College led by Programme Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal for leaving no stone unturned to ensure participation of volunteers in each and every activity of national importance.
Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Shapia, Prof Neeraj Verma, Prof Seema and Prof Anju Bala also attended the function.
The NSS unit of Government College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu organized a series of events to celebrate National Youth Day 2023 to commemorate 160th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The events were held under the patronage of College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sameru Sharma. In her message she said that National Youth Day is celebrated every year to mark highlight teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
NSS unit of GGM Science College under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Rajesh Gupta and under the guidance of NSS PO, Dr. Deepali Mahajan organized an awareness workshop on National Youth Day observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
NSS Unit of Government GLDM Degree College Hiranagar under the patronage of its Principal, Dr. Pragya Khanna celebrated National Youth Day, 2023, with an aim to enlighten the youth through the teachings and ideology of Swami Vivekananda.
Himalayan Degree College celebrated National Youth Day on birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in which students and staff expressed their views on topic ‘Swami Vivekananda’s vision of ideal India’.
To commemorate the 160th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a story telling lecture was organized by the NSS Unit of GDC Doda under the aegis of IQAC of the College. The event was organized under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the College.
Government HSS Nagri Parole in collaboration with NYK Kathua celebrated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. A programme filled with outstanding performances depicting incidents from Vivekananda’s life enlightened the audience.
Vidhyarthi Vibagh of Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra Anand Nagar Jammu organized an Inter-School seminar on the topic of ‘Swami Vivekanand’s Message to the Youth’, on the eve of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
BJP J&K remembered Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary and paid glowing tributes to him at Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Gummat, Jammu. BJP Sanskritik, Art & Culture Cell and BJP Sports Cell organized a programme in which large numbers of Party activists along with J&K BJP vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi, JMC Mayor, Rajinder Sharma, Ex-Dy Mayor Purnima Sharma and others participated. J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina said that Swami Vivekananda conquered the entire world with his teachings. BJP general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul said that PM Modi is following footsteps of Swami Vivekananda.
Mayor JMC Rajinder Sharma flagged off a marathon ‘Young India Run’ in connection with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda which is being celebrated as National Youth Day. Rajinder Sharma, termed Swami Vivekananda as maker of modern India. BJYM J&K president, Arun Prabhat said every year BJYM activists celebrate National Youth Day with enthusiasm.
To commemorate 160th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Chairman Samvedna Society, Keshav Chopra organizes Adhaar Enrolment camp for Divyangs children. The Camp was organized in collaboration with Adhaar Sewa Kendra Jammu and District Child Protection Unit Jammu.
On National Youth Day, J&K Trade Promotion Organization organized a webinar for Start Ups, students and entrepreneurs on ‘Building Successful Startup from J&K.’
Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu celebrated the National Youth Day at Gurah Slathia in Samba district and Salareh in Jammu. In 1984, Indian government declared Swami Ji’s birth anniversary as National Youth Day and since then it has been celebrated to honour and recognize Vivekananda’s teachings.
Under the aegis of NALSA Chairman District Legal Services Authority, organized an awareness programme for the welfare of Pithu and Ponie Walas at SDM Office, Katra and also conducted an awareness programme on ‘National Youth Day’ in Reasi.
Bawa Kailakh Dev Prabandhak Committee organized a programme on birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The members of the committee threw light on his life garlanded his statue. Shakti Dutt Sharma, vice president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, talked about teachings of Swami Ji.
Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles (the GRENADIERS) celebrated National Youth Day with youth of Pulwama district in South Kashmir. A series of events were conducted wherein issues pertaining to youth including drug abuse, terrorism and corruption were discussed with the youth of the Pulwama district.
