Swamy approaches LG, seeks sanction to prosecute Kejriwal

NEW DELHI, Jan 28:
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today approached Lt Governor Najeeb Jung seeking sanction to prosecute Arvind Kejriwal under Prevention of Corruption Act alleging that as Chief Minister in his first tenure, he had helped AAP receiving donation from a private firm in lieu of illegally favouring it.
In a letter to Jung, Swamy also sought prosecution of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claiming that as Finance Minister in the first AAP government he had also favoured the private firm which was a VAT defaulter.
There was no immediate reaction from Delhi Government about the allegations by Swamy.
“During his first tenure as Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and his then Finance Minister Manish Sisodia had illegally favoured M/s SKN Associates Ltd,” Swamy said in his letter to Jung.
He alleged the company’s name figured in a list of Value Added Tax defaulters which was released just ten days before Kejriwal had assumed office on December 28, 2013. (PTI)
