HARIDWAR, Jan 11: The fourth institutional Swarn Shalaka competition was inaugurated here today at Patanjali University under the auspices of Department of Oriental Studies.
On this occasion, the University’s Chancellor, Swami Ramdev said that essence of following scriptures is inspiration.
He emphasized that adherence to scriptures leads to knowledge enhancement and intellectual development, shaping a brighter future.
Acharya Balkrishna, Vice-Chancellor of the University, stated that if we follow the scriptures, they will ensure our sustenance.
He informed that Patanjali University aims to spread awareness about the protection and conservation of scriptures globally.
Acharya Balkrishna also said that the competition is not merely a tradition but also a source of inspiration, enabling us to understand our roots through various activities.
The competition includes themes based on Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Panchadasi, Nitisatakam, Gheranda Samhita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other scripture texts.
The winners with get cash prizes in lakhs or rupees.
The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries such as Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mayank Agrawal, Dr. Satendra Mittal, Dr. K.S Yadav, Kaviraj Dr. Manohar Lal Arya, Dr. Vijaypal Sharma, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Swami Achyutanand, chief central in-charge of Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Swami Parmarthdev, Yoga Department Coordinator Dr. Abhinandan Tiwari, Sanskrit Department Head Dr. Bipin Dubey and Controller of Examinations Dr. B. Singh.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nirvikar, along with departmental heads and faculty members also participated in the event.
The program also included enthusiastic participation from the students of Sanskrit and allied disciplines with the coordination efforts led by Dr. Gaurav and Swami Ishved.
