Swarnkar Sangh seeks reduction in duty on gold

JAMMU, Sept 13:  Swarnkar Sangh, Jammu province has demanded reduction in Import Duty on gold (raw material)  from 10 % to  2 %  and granting of OBC status to the community.
President of the Sangh from Jammu province,  Raj Kumar Babbar, who has recently attended the meeting of All India Swarnkar Sangh at Hyderbad under the chairmanship of B S Verma ( All India president), strongly projected  the issues of  the Swarnkars. He strongly pleaded that Import Duty on raw gold material be reduced from 10 % to 2 %  as this step would increase the revenue to the Government. Earlier also duty on raw material was 2 %.   He claimed that  with this, the smuggling of gold will also be stopped. He also demanded that community be granted OBC status.
In the meeting, Mr Babbar was also declared as in-charge  Himachal Pradesh for initiating Swarnkar Sangh elections there and coordinate the activities of the body.
Meanwhile, Mr Babbar has appointed 15-member team of the Swarnkar Sangh to conduct elections in Himachal Pradesh. The members nominated are- Ram Kapoor ( gen secy), Kulbushan Anand, Jagdish Sehdev, Raghubir Saraf, Rajinder Kumar, Vijay Verma, Ashok Kumar Suri, Dev Kumar Luthra, Ajay Ved, Ashok Kumar Nagi, Sanjeev Verma, Baldev Kumar Verma, Roop Lal Sudan, Joginder Verma and Madan Lal.
