JAMMU, June 21: The Council of Sparkle Woman’s Club (SWC) organized a menstrual hygiene drive entitled ‘Red-ek ehasas’ to raise awareness and zeal to act upon the cause.
Kanta Sharma Sarpanch Badyal Brahmana supported the Club in identifying the area for the project and Dr Prabhjit Kaur MD, DCH (Associate Professor Department of Gynae/Obs, ASCOM Jammu) delivered a talk on menstrual hygiene and also answered queries. The program was launched virtually.
Vibha Sachdeva, Project Head, founder and chairperson Poonam Sethi, Team Sparkle and secretary Gunjan kohli initiated this virtual launch, with the support and guidance of club members.
Pertinent to mention here that the Club also helped people affected with the pandemic in many ways such as by providing regular langar at GMC, refreshment to paramedical staff, Oximeters for COVID ward and also providing dry ration to the untapped area where no other help is available. They also donated an Oxygen concentrator to be used in case of emergencies.
