JAMMU : A paraglider from Switzerland got seriously injured when he crashed with a boulder in remote Mavhail area of Kishtwar district.
Identified as Bodo Rico, who alongwith his friends, had been to Paddar area of Kishtwar, on November 11 for adventure sports, sustained serious injuries after his paraglider crash with boulder in Machail area, official sources here today said.
He said injured Swiss national could not be evacuated immediately to the district hospital for specialised treatment due to poor road connectivity.
A team of paragliders comprising seven foreign nationals and two Indians from Himachal Pradesh were on tourism expenditure in the district since October 30, he added.
“The swiss national had suffered multiple fractures in his legs,” he said and added that with the help of locals and administration, he could be shifted only after around 36 hours of injury.
However, the teammates have requested to the Jammu and Kashmir Government to airlift him to the capital for admitting to the hospital having better facilities so that he can further be shifted to his native place.
“The matter has also been taken up with the Swiss embassy and he may be shifted at the earliest,” said an official.
