SUDHMAHADEV, Oct 5: The Department of Wildlife Protection Jammu organized a function on the eve of Wildlife Week Celebration at Sudhmahadev here today.
The function was organized in the community hall near Government Higher Secondary School Sudhmahadev.
Students from various schools, teachers, Government officials, I/C PHC Sudhmahadev, Naib Tehsildar Katwalt, Naid Tehsildar Sudhmahadev, Head Master Mantali, Dy. Commanding Officer CRPF Sudhmahadev, Chowki Officer Sudhmahadev, Panchs, Sarpanchs, local residents and Wildlife Officials of Sudhmahadev Wildlife Conservation Reserve participated in the function.
Principal Govt. Hr. Sec School Sudhmahadev, Surinder Kumar Sharma stressed upon the students and locals to shun the practice of killing wild animals, destruction of forests and habitat of wild animals. He advised students to follow simple and eco-friendly life style and habits in our day to day routine.
Wildlife Range Officer Udhampur (Sudhmahadev) D.K. Magotra threw light on the importance of Celebrating Wildlife Weeks and sustainable conservation of natural resources.
Head Master Govt. School Mantali, Teacher GHSS Sudhmahadev and Block Officer Sudhmahadev were the judges for the symposium competitions.
In symposium, junior standard (6th -8th) Rashid Ali of 7th class GMS Katwalt got the first prize, Prabha Thakur Kajal 8th class of GHS Mantalai bagged 2nd prize and Rehan Fasial of 7th class of GMS Bachhal and Ambika Sharma 6th class of Krishana Memorial School Sudhmahadev clinched third prize while Pooja Devi 6th class of GMS Sudhmahadev bagged the consolation prize.
In symposium, senior standard (9th – 12th) Meenakshi Kumari 9th Class of GHS Mantalai got the first prize, Tankia Devi 11th class of GHSS Sudhmahadev second prize and Aprana Sharma 10th class of GHSS Sudhmahadev bagged third prize.
