Tabbassum elected president of OBC Union

MENDHAR, Apr 21: Mohd Shrief Tabbassum was elected president of Backward Classes Union of tehsil Mendhar in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Wazir Mohd Bhatti, here today.
Mir Mohd Bhatti and Haji Abdul Khalid were nominated as patron-in-chief and patron respectively.
Nusrat Bi got the post of vice president, while Mohd Bashir Mughal was elected general secretary, Moulana Mohd Iqbal as secretary and Mohd Rafiq Fani as convener. The posts of chief-co advisor, chief advisor and advisor went to Haji Nisar Ahmed Khaki, Advocate Mukhtar Qureshi and Mushtaq Ahmed respectively. Mir Mohd Bhatti was elected chief organizer, while Mohd Mahroof and Mohd Hamid Hulla Mohra were elected organizer and co-ordinator respectively.
Meanwhile, the speakers while highlighting the problems of the OBC communities, demanded enhancement in reservation, construction of OBCs hostel in each district, scholarships to OBC students without the income slab, representation of OBCs in PSC and SSRB, issuance of OBC/OSE certificates before the revenue record of 1960 and inclusion of all communities by the Mandal Commission.
