SRINAGAR, Aug 11: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today asked the Nodal Officers of proposed Medical Colleges in the State to gear up for completing the requisite formalities within time frame for starting work at the respective sites.
Chairing a review meeting to oversee the progress registered, the Minister asked the Nodal Officers for urgent compliance within the deadline schedule of Medical Council of India regulations for setting up of Medical Colleges and other formalities.
The Minister asked the Nodal Officers to prepare land papers of the proposed colleges at the earliest so that the same are submitted to MCI for further action.
The meeting was also told that Rs. 30 cr are being provided to each of the five hospitals for modernisation as per MCI norms.
Mr. Taj asked the Nodal Officers to work in sync with Directors of Health of Kashmir and Jammu provinces and Principals of respective Medical Colleges for resolving land acquisition, other infrastructural and clinical issues.
Commissioner-Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Gazzanfar Hussain, Principals of GMC, Srinagar & Jammu, Directors Health of Kashmir and Jammu, Mission Director, NRHM, besides Nodal Officers for five proposed Medical Colleges were present in the meeting.
