SOPORE, Sept 3: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today directed for immediate shifting of Mother and Child Health Centre (MCH) Sopore to Sub-District Hospital Sopore premises in view of the paucity of space and also asked for starting work on new building of MCH Centre, Sopore.
The directions came during the visit of the Minister to the town and review of the health infrastructure.
The Minister visited Sub District Hospital Sopore and reviewed its functioning with the concerned officers and doctors. It was in the course of review meeting that the Minister directed shifting of MCH Centre to the Sub District Hospital.
Mr. Taj asked the doctors to strengthen the primary and secondary health care facilities so that patients from rural and peripheral areas don’t have to rush to tertiary care hospitals with non serious ailments.
During the course of the inspection, the Minister was given a briefing about the functioning of the Sub District Hospital.
Director Health Services, Kashmir Saleem-ur-Rehman, former MLA, Haji Abdul Rashid, SDM Sopore and officers of health and other departments were present in the meeting.
