BARAMULLA, Dec 30: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din distributed Rs. 1.74 crore IAY cheques among 554 beneficiaries of Uri and Boniyar blocks at a function at Chandanwari, Uri today.
The officers of Rural Development Department and Panchs and Sarpanchs of the area attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Panchs and Sarpanchs should prepare the list of deserving persons for sanction of IAY cases so that the relief under Centrally sponsored scheme percolates down to the needy and deserving persons. He said Government is putting all out efforts to provide succor to the persons living below the poverty line.
Mr. Taj said that Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people especially in far flung and border areas.
On the occasion, the Minister was informed that in near future list of IAY beneficiaries will be available on internet to ensure transparency in their distribution.
