Taj inaugurates drug de-addiction center, electronic networking at GMC

JAMMU, Feb 25: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today inaugurated drug de-addiction center at Psychiatry Diseases Hospital Jammu. He also inaugurated the electronic networking linkage of Government Medical College, Jammu.
This is the first phase of project which would make the admission of patients to different wards on line and connect them with the drug store and other laboratories of the hospital. With this the clinicians would be able to have direct on line access to bio chemical labs and availability of drugs in the hospital.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr. Taj said it has been his endeavour to improve the conditions of GMC, Jammu and SMGS Hospitals for which the department has been striving. He said many steps have been taken to improve the quality of services at the tertiary care hospitals of the State.
The Minister said with the making of admissions on line at the hospital, patients would come to know about the availability of doctors and medicines in the hospital instantly and the status of their treatment would also be available with them.
Mr. Taj further said the addition of Super Specialty Hospital at Jammu to the treatment chart for the patients would go a long way in delivering better services to people who won’t have to go outside the state for treatment.
Principal GMC, Jammu, Prof. Shashi Gupta and other senior faculty members were present on the occasion.
