JAMMU, Sept 27: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today paid surprise visit to PHE Station Muthi and listened to the grievances of the residents of Muthi and its adjoining areas regarding drinking water supply.
Chief Engineer, PHE, Ashwani Sharma along with Executive Engineer accompanied the Minister.
The Minister visited the pumping station and directed the Chief Engineer to optimally utilize their men and machinery for ensuring adequate supply of drinking water to the people. He also asked the Chief Engineer for laying of additional raising main from CPS Muthi to CPS Roop Nagar for providing water supply to the inhabitants of Muthi, Roop Nagar including Durga Nagar, Sharika Vihar, Dreamland City and other adjoining areas under the jurisdiction of Muthi and Roop Nagar area.
He summoned the Director ERA on the spot along with his team and instructed him for inter-connection of the pump tank constructed by ERA for additional water supply to the existing system.
The Minister exhorted upon the Chief Engineer PDD to ensure adequate power supply besides installating energy meters on tube wells and central pumping stations of the area as well.
