JAMMU, Dec 10: Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar held crime review meeting with all range DIGs and District SSPs of Jammu Zone, here this evening.
DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone Danesh Rana, reviewed the crime, anti militancy operation, general security scenario and discussed necessary steps to be taken to control the crime rate and border terrorism.
A threadbare discussion was held regarding disposal of pending crime cases especially cases of heinous crime. The other law and order related arrangements especially for the forthcoming festival Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi were also discussed.
DGP while briefing the officers asked them to put in their best for ensuring adequate security and law and order arrangements during day today law and order problems.
K Rajendra Kumar called for synergizing police-public partnership groups and directed the officers to conduct regular meetings with the general public in their area of responsibility and promptly respond to the public complaints and be friendly with the people.
He directed the officers to make elaborate arrangements and take necessary steps for maintaining law and order. Nobody should be allowed to vitiate the atmosphere at any cost, he added.
The participating police officers briefed the DGP about the available inputs and their assessment over the security and law and order situation in Jammu region. They briefed DGP about the arrangements they have made for enhancing the security and law and order arrangements.
DGP asked the police officer to maintain coordination among the other sister agencies deployed in the districts for ensuring a peaceful environment and prevention of any anti social activities in the disturbed areas and stressed the District SSPs to strength their DAR.
IGP Danesh Rana gave an elaborate presentation on the prevalent security scenario in the division and overall position of the crime and its disposal.
The meeting amongst others, was attended by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, SSP Udhampur, SO to IGP Jammu Zone, SSP Rajouri, SSP Poonch, SSP Samba, SSP Jammu, SP Kishtwar, SP Reasi and SP Doda.
