Talab Tillo gets modernized Post Office

JAMMU May 11: Kalpana Tiwari, Chief General Manager (Business Development) Postal Directorate New Delhi today dedicated a modernized Postal Complex at Talab Tillo in the presence of John Samuel Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir.
Renovated on the modern lines with all facilities for customers, the Talab Tillo Post Office is one amongst the biggest Post Offices in Jammu City which caters daily to thousands of people and has been modernized under “Project Arrow”
Speaking on the occasion, Kalpana Tiwari said that the Department of Posts was working to revamp the overall functioning of post offices and establishing them as business outlets with all services under one roof.
She said that Department was inducting Technology in a big way to computerize and modernize all the 1.55 lakh Post offices including Branch Post Offices (village level).
John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, J&K in his address said that “The modern post office presents a new look and has all the latest services for public. Talab Tillo is an important area for Department and its modernization will surely give the Department an opportunity to serve the people better.
Chief PMG announced that a new Post Office will be inaugurated at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Universiy on Tuesday which will be followed by dedication of modernized Jawahar Nagar (Rajouri) Post Office. He further added that modernized Reasi, Vijaypur, Hiranagar, Jourian and Lakhanpur Post Offices will be dedicated to people soon.
Jagdeep Gupta, Director Postal Services speaking on the occasion said Jammu and Kashmir Postal Circle is committed to provide best services and efforts on large scale are being taken to do so. Senior officers of Postal Department were also present during the dedication and inaugural function.
