SRINAGAR, July 31: NC general secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar here today said that tall claims on Srinagar Smart City projects were nothing but cruel joke in the face of harsh reality of water scarcity, deteriorating road infrastructure and numerous other civic issues plaguing the city.
During his tour of Kak Mohalla and Radapora areas in Khawja Bazaar, Sagar had a brief interaction with both locals and party functionaries.
He was informed about the issues of the areas and he assured the residents that their urgent demands would be brought to the attention of authorities.
Sagar was accompanied by NC functionaries Abid Wani, Ali Mohammad Darel, Bashir Ahmed Kak, Barkat Ahmed Khan and others.
Expressing concern over widespread water logging of low-lying areas across Srinagar city, Sagar emphasized that government’s failure to regularly de-silt drains was a major factor in rapid inundation of these areas.
