Tantray heads BOPEE, Tickoo is DC works

SRINAGAR, Oct 10: The Cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah approved the appointment of G. H. Tantray, former Commissioner/Secretary as Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (J&KBOPEE) for a period of two years.
It also sanctioned appointment of Bimal Kumar Tickoo, Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir as Development Commissioner (Works). It approved placement of Thaseen Mustafa CEO, ERA in the grade of Development Commissioner (Works) on ex-cadre basis.
The Cabinet also approved enhancement in the prescribed age of retirement on superannuation in case of the members of the teaching faculty of Government Dental Colleges in the State from the present 60 years to 62 years.
The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the creation of 10 posts of Under Secretaries-Secretariat cadre and 6 posts of Private Secretaries – Secretariat cadre.
The Cabinet approved the creation of the Technical Support Group (TSG) for implementing the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) with 2 posts of programmer and 4 posts of data operator/computer operator.
The Cabinet accorded sanction to the temporary engagement of 663 persons on casual basis for watch and ward (Chowkidar)/ Orderlies and Drivers for driving of vehicles in the newly created Administrative units by the Revenue Department.
The Cabinet accorded sanction to the creation of 308 posts of different categories in the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for setting up of district level offices in all the 22 districts for implementing the State Litigation Policy. It also accorded sanction to the creation of 110 posts of different categories for functioning of 22 Dehi Adalats in the State.
The Cabinet accorded sanction to the adjustment/absorption of substantive staff of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in the State Government in the Department of Rural Development.
The Cabinet approved renaming of the Soil Conservation Department as Soil and Water Conservation Department.
