JAMMU, Nov 23: Jammu and Kashmir Kickboxing Association (JKKA) has announced its merger with Kickboxing Association of J&K (KAJK) with the sole aim to make an end to the factionalism, here today.
It was announced by president of the JKKA, G N Tantray and general secretary, Fasil Ali while talking to the media at Jammu. Subsequently, general secretary of the KAJK, Abhishek Jain welcomed the top functionaries of the JKKA to the Association.
Furthermore, GN Tantray also disassociated himself from the Kickboxing Federation of India (KFI) by announcing his resignation from the post of senior vice president of the KFI thus making it a complete merger of the J&K unit of KFI in WAKO India.
“The merger has made an end to the factionalism and confusion among the trainees. I am hopeful that working together will usher in a new era in the game of Kickboxing,” said Abhishek Jain.
Earlier, Tantray resigned from the post of senior vice president of KFI for irregularities in selection of the players at the national and international championships in a ‘fraudulently manner’ without consulting respective State unit heads. “Recently, an unrecognized invitational championship was conducted in Egypt in which players were selected without completing any selection criteria,” Tantray alleged.
Meanwhile, Gorav Chopra, vice president of the KAJK and Councillor JMC congratulated the Association members and wished for better days ahead for the game of Kickboxing.
Among others present were Sanjeev Jamwal, Irfan Choudhary and Danish Padha.
