UDHAMPUR, Sept 12: A self styled Godman (tantrik) was today arrested for allegedly beating a woman with a ‘chimta’, claiming to remove all her evils, in village Dehari of Ramnagar tehsil.
“A lady identified as Sabitri Devi wife of Mulakh Raj, resident of village Rasyan was yesterday beaten by a ‘tantrik’ namely Sham Lal, son of Prem Nath of village Dehari, in the name of removing evils from her,” a police spokesman said.
The spokesman said that the woman sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized following which victim husband registered a complaint in this connection with police station Ramnagar, which acted swiftly and arrested the accused ‘tantric’.
