KULGAM, Apr 9: The CPI (M) general secretary and Legislature, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami today asked National Conference (NC) Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah to hold New Delhi accountable for their misdeeds in Kashmir.
Reacting to a recent statement by Dr Farooq Abdullah, asking people of Jammu and Kashmir to leave all issues including the hanging of Afzal Guru behind and move ahead, Tarigami said that it is New Delhi that keeps on rubbing salt to the wounds of Kashmiris.
Tarigami while speaking to media persons during the sidelines of a rally in Arigutnoo village of this South Kashmir district said that Dr Farooq Abdullah should join our hands and demand answers from New Delhi for playing with their sentiments time and again instead of telling the people to forget everything.
Tarigami said that main stream political parties should do away with politicising the Panchayats. “The Panchayat polls were held on a non-party basis, but every political party for their political interests jumped in to own them,” he added.
Condemning the booking of youth and minors in stone pelting charges, Tarigami said: “These are our kids and their place is not in jail.
All the cases against them should be withdrawn so that their careers are not marred.”
