Tarigami questions NC’s seriousness over autonomy

SRINAGAR, June 28: CPI (M) State general secretary and MLA Kulgam M YTarigami today lashed out at the National Conference for making clamour on restoration of the eroded autonomy, questioning their “stoic silence” and “conviction” to press for it after Centre turned it down.
In a statement, Tarigami said: “Those who cry hoarse about Article 370, have they ever made a serious attempt to mobilize the opinion in the country for restoration of State’s autonomy to its original form which has been eroded during the years beyond recognition?”
Hitting out at both Congress and BJP for denying autonomy to the J&K, he said it is an admitted fact that while fascist forces have been always trying to scuttle the constitutional guarantees to Jammu and Kashmir, the successive secular regimes in the country have also been responsible for the denial of autonomy and spoiling the spirit of Article 370.
