Task Force to review routine immunization programme

JAMMU, Dec 31: The State Government has accorded sanction for constitution of State and District Immunization Steering Committees to review the routine immunization programme performance and funds distribution for the same.
The State Task Force, headed by Commissioner Secretary Health & Medical Education Department, will assess the routine immunization programme performance through a detailed review of monitoring data (HMIS and MCTS) and occurrence of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs), review the vacant positions at district and sub-district level, vaccine chain logistics, training status with special focus on high priority districts and community participation.
Administrative Secretaries of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, H&UDD, Mission Director NRHM, ICDS, Director Family Welfare and State Surveillance Medical Officer, WHO-India, NPSP, are members of the State Task Force.
Similarly, District Magistrate concerned will be head of the District Task Force with Chief Medical Officer as member secretary. District Immunization Officer, Executive Officer (District Municipal Committee) and District Project Officer, ICDS will be members of this committee.
The DTFI will review the immunization programme at district level.
