JAMMU, Sept 10: For implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in the Union Territory, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir today accorded sanction for constitution of two Task Forces.
The Task Force on Higher Education shall be headed by K K Sharma, Advisor to the Lt Governor while the Task Force on School Education and Skill development shall be headed by Principal Secretary School Education Department.
These Task Forces shall examine the provisions of NEP 2020 and identify specific measures to be taken for implementing these in Jammu and Kashmir. For the implementation of NEP, these Task Forces shall assess the academic and training requirements, suggest structural reforms, assess manpower and financial requirements and shall also suggest procedural and policy changes that need to be made in achieving the objectives of NEP 2020.
Vice-Chancellors of all Universities of J&K, Deans/Directors of IIT, IIM and NIT in J&K, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department, three Principals from Jammu province and Kashmir province, six Government nominated academicians, Director RUSA and Director Colleges are members of the Task Force on Higher Education.
Similarly, Director School Education Kashmir/Jammu, Director Skill Development J&K, Director SCERT (Chairperson BOSE), Project Director Samagra Shiksha, four Government nominated academicians and four Principal from Government/private school are members of the Task Force on School Education.
