UDHAMPUR, Oct 16: Social activist Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria today sought attention of the LG administration towards big cracks developed in Tawi bridge near Roun Domail and demanded a CBI probe for action against those responsible for the same.
Public Works (R&B) Department had constructed this 108 meters long bridge on river Tawi crossing Udhampur –Ramnagar road near Roun Domail, by spending Rs 7.87 crore in 2018. However, within five years since its construction, the bridge had developed big cracks apparently because of substandard material used by the concerned agency.
“Because of the damage, it has become very dangerous and scary to pass over the bridge and we fear some major mishap may took place if no immediate action is taken by the authorities,” said Bavouria, while talking to media persons, here today.
Bavouria appealed to the Lt Governor to look into the matter and order CBI probe for ensuring strict action against those who used substandard material in the construction work.
