JAMMU, June 4: Tawi Trekkers J&K, one of the biggest trekking organisations in the country, under its ‘Himalayan Trekking Programme-2018’ is sending a group of about 45 school students to Moungri in Udhampur district on alternate days.
In this process, 3rd group comprising of 41 students of MHAC School, Nagbani left today for Moungri under the supervision of Manik Slathia, a highly trained mountaineer of our state. Two teachers of the school Shiv Dutt Sharma and Vishal Sharma also accompanied the trekkers.
The trekkers were flagged off from MA Stadium by the Principal of MHAC School, Nagbani, Sween Puri.
While interacting with the participants the chief guest dwelt at length the educative value of trekking.
“Adventure sports are necessary for the overall personality development of a student,” she added.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included the General Secretary and Joint Secretary of the club Shawetica Khajuria and Sonam Sidharth, Senior teachers of MHAC School, Nagbani Rohit Sharma and Tannu Jain. A memento was also presented to the chief guest by President of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Ram Khajuria.
Meanwhile, a group of trekkers of Shangrilla Public School returned here today after a thrilling experience.
