Tax Bar Association members call on CCT

JAMMU, Dec 14: A deputation of Tax Bar Association’s Jammu office bearers called on Commissioner Commercial Taxes Kifayat Hussain Rizvi and suggested various measures for improvement in tax administration by virtue of certain Legislative amendments.
The deputation impressed upon the CCT to properly invoke Section 98 of the J&K VAT Act, 2005 so that various anomalies in respect of seeking fresh registration in case of business constitution by the dealers could be removed.
The CCT responded positively and assured to issue circular promptly. He also agreed to immediately issue necessary instructions to the Commercial Tax Officers to always keep receipt books and issue acknowledgement receipts of all the documents received in their offices.
During the discussion, issue of replacing printers in the circles was also taken up with the CCT who assured to take appropriate action. The CCT also agreed to do away the deficiencies of furniture and fans in the circle offices, provide parking facility for the Advocates and separate wash room for Tax Bar Association.
The deputation comprised of the Association president Advocate V K Grover, Satish Gupta, Vikas Chopra and Vikram Dubey.
