JAMMU, Feb 20: Jammu Province Tourist Taxi Operators’ Federation (JPTTOF) has urged the traffic authorities to issue ‘no frisking stickers’ to all the registered taxi stands
Addressing a press conference, chairman of the Federation, Inderjeet Sharma said, “Jammu is a pilgrimage hub of India with Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine attracting millions of tourists every year but on the name of security reasons vehicles carrying these pilgrims and tourists to Katra and various other locations were being stopped at many places causing inconvenience to the passengers and bringing bad name to State Tourism”.
“But the introduction of ‘no frisking stickers on National Highway’ by the traffic department on the initiative of Governor NN Vohra and senior police officers will go a long way in providing hassle free journey to the tourists and pilgrims visiting the State”, Sharma said and demanded that similar stickers be issued to all the registered taxi stands within a month by deputing officials at various stations.
