JAMMU, Oct 13: Alleging misuse of funds, National Secular Forum has urged the Governor to initiate an enquiry into the proposed re-organizing of the Silver Jubilee celebration of The Business School for the second time in three years.
Addressing a press conference here today, NSF president Sukhdev Singh said that Silver Jubilee Anniversary of the Business School was already observed October 27, 2011 and there was no logic in celebrating the same.
At this time of high recession when every step is being initiated with the objective of reducing unwanted and avoidable expenses in the University, The Business School is re-organizing the event for the reasons best known to the concerned Director,” he said.
Sukhdev Singh further said that approval for re-organizing the Silver Jubilee function was suspicious and points towards the lack of obedience and diligence to the order of Governor for judicious use of funds.
“The Business School Administration is already facing an enquiry for the irregularities and mismanagement and the persons under scanner should not be encouraged by allowing such wasteful expenditure,” the NSF leader said asking the Vice-Chancellor to be very vigilant before giving any approval to these types of functions.
Among those who were present in the press conference included Akshey Sharma, Barkat Tahir, Narinder Singh, Qayoom Malik and Vikram Madhyal.
