Teach lesson to ‘coalition’ for betraying Panchayat members: PDP

Doda, Nov 23: In connection with the on-going campaign of the Legislative Council elections, PDP leaders addressed series of public meetings at Doda and Bhaderwah and sought support for party candidates Ved Mahajan and Gurmeet Singh Bajwa.
Speaking in the public meetings, senior PDP leader and former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa assured the Panchayat members that PDP would take every step to strengthen Panchayats. He said that PDP has made it clear very earlier that the party want a strong Panchayati Raj Institutions in the State so that democracy should be strengthened at grass root level.
While cautioning the people against nefarious designs of ruling coalition, Bajwa said that coalition regime has done nothing for the Panchayat members. He said during the last more than one and half years State Government also cheated the Panchayat members who feel betrayed by the deceit tactics of the present regime. He said that coming elections of the Legislative Council was an opportunity to teach a lesson the State Government for betraying Panchayat members.
Speaking on the occasion, Ved Mahajan said that PDP would vociferously take up issue of Panchayat in the Legislative Council. He said that it was commitment of the PDP to restore dignity and honour of the Panchayat members and to give adequate powers to the Panchayats.
Gurmeet Singh Bajwa, Sheikh Mujbeed, Attaullah and others also spoke on the occasion.
